BloomChic Announces 2022 Size Run Expansion Through Size 30


Plus-size company BloomChic has committed to extending their size run through size 30 by January 2022. Originally conceived as a trendy brand for sizes 12 through 22, this may be exciting news for many in the plus-size space who feel they’ve been left behind by the recent growth in the 1X through 3X market offering.

The company brought on 14-year plus-size industry veteran Nicole Philips as Director of Social Media and Community. Philips told The Zoe Report, “This customer has been let down so many times. We’re a savvy, resourceful shopper. For a brand, when you come into this space, you need to come at it very authentically. You need to come in being open to listening to feedback.” Philips is also a plus-size customer. “There’s an experience that I have just as a customer that someone who has been a straight-size person their entire life will never truly understand the same way,” she says.

Philips says that the company understands the ways that the fashion industry has failed the plus-size customer, editing and watering down her fashion narrative. She says at BloomChic, “We passionately believe that women should have the access to curate their own style and express themselves through fashion however they dream. She is the stylist.”

With offices in the U.S., Hong Kong, and China, BloomChic is currently hiring plus-size designers with industry experience to assist their overseas team with design and fit. The company is in the midst of creating partnerships within the plus-size space, including one with Los Angeles based consignment boutique, The Plus Bus. Returns and photoshoot samples are sent for resale.

Philips says that the forthcoming size expansion and partnerships are only the beginning of BloomChic’s plans to serve and build the plus-size community.
