Fila launches curve line today

Today FILA released an extended sizing collection for Spring. It will be the first of five that the company is planning to roll out this year. Plus-size customers can expect nearly 130 new pieces, ranging from sizes 1X through 4X, in 2021.
Jennifer Estabrook, President of FILA North America, has previously shared the company’s commitment to the plus-size category, stating, “As we continue to pave the way in sportstyle, it is important that we take the necessary steps to offer modern looks that are size inclusive.”
Last year, FILA debuted a 13-piece Curve Collection with four plus-size retailers: Dia & Co, HSN, Ashley Stewart and Stitch Fix. Today’s release more than doubles the offering. The Spring capsule has 37 pieces. It includes FILA’s more traditional styles, like hoodies, sports bras, and biker shorts, as well as a tulle skirt and sequin dress.
Athletic wear is a rapidly growing category. Sports apparel is projected to become a $248.1 billion market by 2026. Some of that growth will be thanks to plus-size customers, who make up nearly 70% of the US market.
FILA says today’s announcement is part of their commitment to the continuation of their curve category.
