Allison Braun — Work Less, Make More Series: Megan Hale

I learned the first year of being a mama that multi-tasking is NOT my friend. When I’m on mom mode, I’m on mom mode. When I’m on CEO mode, I’m on CEO mode. I work super limited hours, which means I am very conscious of where I put my time and energy and I’m super protective of both. Projects often take longer to get done because I refuse to be rushed. Because of that, I tend to have extra spacious launch calendars and have given myself full permission to go slow to go fast. Un-rushed is my most potent tool in my arsenal and interestingly, I feel like I get way more done that’s meaningful and creates powerful results because of it!

White space is also sacred in order to feel spacious. It is so easy to over-schedule yourself and it’s the quickest way to edge out ease. I’ve learned to protect that unplanned time. It’s a game-changer!

I also give myself permission to take lots of breaks and not do all the things. When I’m in heavy content creation mode for a program, I’ll put my podcast on pause, for instance. When I’m going on vacation, I don’t put all this pressure to get emails batched. I think it’s so easy to set up your online business to pretend life doesn’t exist. Batching can totally offer ease AND it can absolutely create pressure. Over the years, I’ve found it’s totally okay to let your business take a breather. I promise the world does not end if you take breaks 🙂 Your people will cheer for you and still remember you (promise!). Sustainability is the name of the game, which includes rest & recharging!

Q: What are your main sources of income?

A: The CEO Shift, 90-Minute Profit Intensives, The Money Map

Q: What are you currently learning about?

I’m currently becoming certified as a Profit First Professional.

Q: What are you creating purely for the joy of it?

A: We just bought an RV and I’m planning out our adventures with all the details – meals I want to try, places I want to visit, outside decor that makes our travels epic, the best outdoor gear, all the things.

Q: What’s a boundary you are still working on improving for yourself?

A: No social media time before I go to bed. Even better – no phone in the bedroom period.
