Bad Elevator Pitches for Female Entrepreneurs

A common mistake female entrepreneurs make when choosing their niche – and the accompanying Elevator Pitch is that they’re just too vague.

It’s all word salad and never really gets to the point. If you’re using tired old tropes like soulful, divine or purposeful – then it’s time to take a step back, a notebook and have a good think about what it is you’re actually trying to achieve in terms of positive change for your potential client.

When you’re drippy and insipid you’re never going to hit that sweet spot of being able to have your Elevator Pitch roll off your tongue and people immediately know what you do and how you help.

Women are socially conditioned to be “nice” and not put their demands out there – which often translates to not stating what they really mean… and so we end up with these Hallmark card style Elevator Pitches which… even if you land a client – will likely be the WRONG client – because they haven’t got a clue what you do – and neither do you!
