How One Facebook Post Brought This Entrepreneur $160K In Sales


Everyone knows that Facebook ads can bring a lifeblood of customers into their business. That’s one of the reasons the social media giant was able to generate more than $84 billion dollars in advertising revenue in 2020. And experts say that the majority of their advertising dollars come from small and medium-sized businesses relying on Facebook ads as their main source of customers.

But some entrepreneurs know a simple post on your personal page can bring you as much as an ad—maybe even more. That’s what Jomie Casas, founder of Just Rent-A-COO, a management agency for online companies, was able to achieve. “Lots of entrepreneurs talk about the power of storytelling,” says Casas, who has entrepreneurs launch and run their businesses on autopilot. “I’ve actually used storytelling on my own social media page to attract high-ticket, dream clients—without buying ads.” 

Less than a year after she wrote a Facebook post about her ideal customer and her own personal journey of entrepreneurship, she brought in four new clients who signed contracts with her totaling $160K. “They all mentioned reaching out after seeing my post and told me how deeply it resonated with them,” says Casas. “Any professional or entrepreneur can, and should, leverage their story online to stand out from the crowd and reel in high profile clients.” The following three strategies helped Casas—and could help you—create a Facebook post that is worth six-figures.

1. Spark Curiosity

While some entrepreneurs use inspiration, shock value or a unique story to get their potential client’s attention, Casas actually decided to incorporate all three into her post which opens with the line, “If you found me then you must be someone who strives to create massive wealth and impact.” 

More importantly, she focused on crafting an unusual brand story that invited questions. “I’m a fractional COO but I don’t have an MBA or decades of experience like most of my competitors. So in my post I talked about my experience building a six-figure company with just $300—and then walking away from it,” reveals Casas. “People wanted to know the whole back story. So when they contacted me, I related my story of the business that I shut down to the desires of my ideal clients who were feeling overwhelmed by their companies. Then I explained how I could help. It worked like a charm.” 

It was tempting not to tell people about the entrepreneurial endeavor that she ended, but Casas opened up anyway. “Oftentimes, wherever we perceive a weakness there is actually a superpower,” she says of the story that helped her build extraordinary know-like-and-trust on her road to attracting high-paying clients. Find your own curiosity spark in your brand story and then use it to engage potential clients and show them how you can help them find success.

2. Share Everywhere

Casas made her story even more personal by making it accessible to anyone on social media. “I made my Facebook profiles public so I could connect with anyone who had the link,” she says. “This gave my new connections the opportunity to truly know me, and decide whether they wanted me to run their businesses with them.” This may blur the work-life-boundaries most people set for themselves, but for Casas’ target entrepreneurs, business is personal. “I position myself as the right-hand to visionary entrepreneurs, and that relationship is essentially a partnership,” she says.  

“Whenever I reached out to a potential client via email or on freelancer platforms, I included a link to the story in the body of the email and a link to my Facebook profile in my signature,” she says. “It also lives on my website.”

3. Deliver On Your Promise 

No matter how good your marketing is, you have to deliver an exceptional product that gets people singing your praises. “My clients stayed on because I gave them exactly what I said I would,” says Casas. “Storytelling gets you noticed, but following through with a great product is really where the money’s at.” 

The promise Casas makes to her clients is that she will help build and run their businesses so that they can do only what they love. Things like content creation, transformational coaching or webinars. For you, the promise might be creating sales funnels that actually convert, designing breathtaking websites or helping a client slim down. Whatever you guarantee, make sure that your client gets that result in the end and you could have multiple returns on their investment in you.

“Apart from $160K in new contracts, the clients I signed from my social media post have since referred me to other clients,” reveals Casas. “That led me to recently expand my business. That post is the storytelling gift that keeps on giving.”
