How To Get Started On Pinterest As A Business Owner — molly ho studio

How do you get started on Pinterest as a business owner?:

An Ideal Client is someone who finds the perfect solution to their problems or needs in the services or products that your business provides. The Ideal Client will be loyal to your company, frequently uses or buys your products or services, and is likely to recommend you to their friends and colleagues. Identifying who they are requires you to know:

Getting clear on who your target audience allows you to create valuable content you know they’re searching for. Imagine a farmer teaching how to drive a car, wouldn’t make sense would it? No, but imagine a business coach teaching how to start a business? Now, that’s speaking directly to their audience.

The first thing you need to do in order to use Pinterest to grow traffic to your site or business is to either open a business account or convert your personal account to a business account.

This can be done on the Pinterest sign-in page, or you can convert your account under Settings>Account Settings within your account.

Converting to a business account enables you to see analytics such as how many times your pins were seen, re-pinned, and how many of viewers clicked through to your destination link, how to promote a pin via ads, and so much more.

This part is CRUCIAL. When people look at your profile, they should be able to get a clear idea of what your brand is all about and what kind of content they can expect from you.

So if you’re going to leverage Pinterest for business, start by optimizing your profile to reflect these important factors:

  • Having a clear colored headshot of you as your profile image (a great first impression)

  • Your display name should be keywords that describe who you are (ie: wedding photographer, blogger, business coach, etc) and what services you offer (ie:coaching, digital products, social media management, etc)

  • Your bio should be a short but sweet elaboration of what you put in your display name. (ie: business coach helping female entrepreneurs excel at selling their services >> schedule a free discovery call with me here, then enter your shortened link

After you profile and bio, your boards are the eye catcher your potential clients are looking for. So, creating boards that are centered around what your target audience is searching for is a great way to get them hooked to your content.

  • Start off with about 10-15 boards related to your brand.

  • The titles should be searchable and be a help to your target audiences pain points ( ex: female entrepreneur tips, brand photoshoot ideas, how to price your services)

  • DO NOT SKIP THE DESCRIPTION! Your boards description is a perfect place to add searchable keywords for your audience to find your content. It doesn’t have to be long but it should be enough to give your audience an idea of what to expect with in the board.

  • Fill each board with at the least 30 pins that are related to the title. Be sure to choose clear and vertical pins as what you repin to your board can ultimately affect the performance of your board.
