What is your backstory? How did you find your calling?

Even as a child I always wanted to make people happy. I was one to always find a way to help them feel better. Fortunately as a young adult I found my way into the medical profession. It was my calling, my passion and my drive. I kept progressing in my career, trying to find new ways to help even more people.

In 2019 I had the opportunity to become self employed and discovered a need in the community to help individuals suffering from treatment resistant depression and PTSD. Two diseases I have had a lot of exposure to. Out of that came Rejuvenate. It is there that I can help so many more people get their lives back and pursue their dreams.

What do you enjoy the most about what you do?

Seeing people change right in front of me. Watching them heal and grow smiles. Just being there for so many that don’t have that.

What’s your greatest achievement to date? Why are you proud of it?

I believe this business is my greatest achievement to date. Not because of its success, but because what it stands for. Helping people feel better and helping their bodies function properly so they can live their fullest life possible.

Who has inspired you the most on your journey?

Mental health is a real crisis in this country, unfortunately now with COVID-19 it is even worse. Living with family members that have suffered with mental health issues and seeing so many suffer and go without the help they need has driven me to this point in my life. If I can help decrease the burden on the system and get people back to feeling better, then that is what I intend to do.

Who would you love to meet one day and why?

I really don’t have anyone I want to meet. I just want to be the voice in the community that people know and trust.

What do you wish someone told you before you became an entrepreneur/business owner?

To be sure and create a business that can run without you, maybe not at first, but eventually. If you don’t, then the business can’t live without you and you are not creating something to create and freedom for you.

What advice would you like to give others who are on the same or similar journey as you?

Don’t be afraid. Being an entrepreneur is totally doable. You must be committed to your dream and follow through with steps it takes to create the business. Just remember, there will be those that tell you are crazy, well maybe you are, but don’t let them bring you down. You fight for your dream and don’t let bumps in the road stop you, because you will have lots of bumps in the road!

What’s the best piece of advice that you have received recently?

Definitely to outsource things I am not good at. Trying to do it all is a time suck and keeps me from things I can do.

What’s next for you?

I plan on keeping the business growing. I will expand on the wellness services offered. I want to bring in a massage therapist, a nutritionist, and hopefully, a mental health nurse practitioner so it will be a one-stop-shop for those needing help. Streamlining the system to make it easier and less stressful for the client.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years I hope to have a smooth running operation that has expanded into other communities in need. There are thousands just in my city alone. I hope in 5 years I have grand babies to spoil and will be able to take the time to do that.

What can we catch you doing when you’re not working?

Traveling in our RV, playing with the dogs, gardening and spending time at the ocean. I just love nature and all it has to offer.

What book impacted your life the most and why?

None really.

What are three random facts about you?

  1. I am a Unicorn nut, I even have a Unicorn tattoo. I have loved them since the 80’s.

  2. I’m afraid of really tall bridges, especially when driving over them.

  3. I was a champion barrel racer back in my teenage years.

What is your favorite quote?

“Everything happens for a reason.”

Although over the years I have modified that to include, except cancer! I can’t find any reason for that to happen. The quote makes me look at all situations to try and find the good in them no matter how hard it is.
