Three Things That Are Critical to Reaching Your Goals Before 2020 Ends by Priscilla Q. Williams

This year has a year of surprises starting with COVID-19, increased racial tension, and a presidential election that took us for a loop. However, 2020 has also been a year of discovery, holding on to things that are most important and being grateful for everything we have. If there were goals, you set at the beginning of 2020 but did not reach them then I am sure your brain is working hard to see what needs to be done next. I have also had goals this year that did not meet my desired outcome. I have also had some great accomplishments this year that I am extremely grateful for like writing my book and releasing my new podcast. I valued the lessons that I have learned this year both good and bad, and I go into 2021 knowing that I must step my game up to reach even bigger goals. Before you start working on your 2021 goals, I want to share with you three critical elements you must have to reach your goals. I have used these key elements myself and it has taken my life and my business to the next level. Let us look at what those key strategies are.

1. Relationships
Relationships are extremely important in helping you reach success. The key to building relationships all boils down to you authentically connecting with people. If you are aiming to reach big goals, you must have relationships with key people to help you get where you need to go. You need others to help you reach your goals because you cannot do this thing called life alone. Even if the work depends on you doing all of it, it is vital that you have a mentor, coach, or accountability partner. Having powerful relationships with like-minded individuals will help you shorten your learning curve and reach the goals you desire. One thing about relationships that’s key is making sure that the relationships are authentic. Do not connect with someone because of what they can do for you, but build a relationship based on true character connection and how you and that person can help sharpen each other. Having the right relationships can change the game for you.

2. Strategy/Plan
When you are creating goals, it is very important to have a plan in place. There are many individuals who have an idea of what goals they want to reach but do not have a roadmap to get them there. Creating vision boards and writing down your goals is a great start, but make sure to work with someone to help you put that goal in place like a coach or a trainer. It is much harder to reach your goals alone. If want to lose weight but have not created a strategy to get to your ideal weight, then you are bound for failure. It will take time, money, and effort to reach those goals. So, hiring a trainer or joining a gym may be what you need to put that plan in place. The more you plan and make a conscious effort to carry it out the results are bound to show up for you.

3. Determination
When you are determined to reach your goals, you will not let anything stop you no matter what. Determination is one of the most important key factors. There will always be distractions to hold you back, but you must remain focused no matter what. This year you may have not reached all the goals you set, but if you are determined you will go back to the drawing board next year and start all over. You must be so determined to reach your goals that you can literally see it come to fruition. Be careful of the words you speak over your life. It’s all about what you speak as well.

Overall, the takeaway point is to finish 2020 with some new determination and a new mindset. Do not carry what happened this year over into the new year. Lead the remaining of 2020 with newfound relationships, a strategy in place, and newfound determination. With these three key components, I know you will reach your goals and find the success you so desire. Have a prosperous and powerful rest of the year!
