News feature: New research from the CDC that gives us another highly effective tool when it comes to our fight against the coronavirus. The CDC today stressing the importance of wearing masks – properly key word there – properly, and also new data that shows two masks are indeed better than one.
Well I can tell you that wearing two masks does get uncomfortable but I’ve got a tip for you. A few months ago I purchased one of these. Now this is a cone that actually goes over your nose to help you breathe better when you’re wearing thicker or double masks.
I’m wearing a red lip to show you just how you can use it. I’m going to take this, add my cloth mask, and this is a multi-layered mask, and I’m going to put it on. Now the inside of my mask is white. It’s a brand new mask. I’m going to put my cone in my mask. This mask also comes with a wire insert at the nose that you can use to bend it to your nose. You can talk and have a regular conversation with the cone on underneath your mask it won’t give you any problems. Easy, breezy, no problems breathing. I can talk and I can wear my mask in a comfortable way for hours and hours.
Now I’ve seen these things sold for twenty dollars each. I bought these a few months ago and I paid about seven dollars for five of these cones so it’s a really good buy. I’ll link to where you can find it.
On top of that if you don’t want to wear the surgical mask or two of these surgical masks. I do like a really good cloth mask. Now, this particular cloth mask has multiple layers which is what the CDC suggests and it also has a pocket for you to wear a filter. This mask comes with filters and you can also buy the filters separately. It goes into the pocket in the mask and that gives you an extra layer of protection so that you don’t get an infection. It also helps for you if you don’t want to wear multiple masks. If you wear a really good quality mask with multiple layers and a filter that’s also acceptable to the CDC.
I’m going to link to where you can find this mask as well. They make a version exactly the same that’s great for your kids. My son has been wearing the same mask since he was two years old. On top of that, this particular mask also comes with a snap-on that you can use for added protection for your eyes. I haven’t taken the protective film off because this is brand new but there’s a protective film on both sides. If I’m going going to be someplace with a lot of people or if I’m then instead of wearing a full face shield you can wear this and it’s another layer of protection.
So, to recap you’ve got the cone that can help you breathe better if you’re wearing multiple masks. You have a thick multi-layered mask and they make them in kids sizes. My kid’s been wearing one. He’s three now; he’s been wearing one since he was two. He doesn’t take it off since it’s comfortable for him and you can buy filters for your mask to help you protect yourself.
