This time is so surreal and the weight of it is multilayered.
I’ve noticed in my own life that whatever trauma we personally have has a direct reflection in how this is feeling to us individually.
I certainly have no answers about it all, but what I do indeed know is that the tools I use are helping me a lot.
Here is a short list of helpers I’ve found in my days lately:
-
Connection to my life: what’s right in front of me has become the medicine I need.
-
LIMITING where I get my information and choosing not to be plugged into the news narrative 24 hours a day.
-
Reaching out via FaceTime to my friends and family who are alone through this and who are really scared.
-
My simple and sincere meditation practice—the basics. (If you need a meditation, I have a free one here)
-
My altar is simple but beautiful and my candles are lit.
-
I work out 6 times a week. I am using light weights and doing sit-ups, jumping on my rebounder, and doing jumping jacks. I’m enjoying being super strong —it’s helping me now.. I am amazed at how personal strength can give so much support.
-
I’m reading again which feels really good.
-
A few times a day, I’m visualizing how I want this to turn out—like the highest vision i could have—this is a radical act, especially when the news is pumping us with so much fear.
-
I’m eating simple healthy meals.
-
I am really connecting with how I can listen better to others that have a different perspective then I do. [wow that can be hard]
-
I am holding that this too shall pass.
-
I’m watching Cheers on Netflix and laughing so hard I cry.
-
Inspired by my hubby, I’m showering and getting dressed every day.
To those of you affected by the virus on a physical, personal level— I am so sorry.
To those of you reeling from the financial stress this is causing, I send you love, too.
To those of you who are alone and scared, I circle you with collective light.
We will get through this.
